As part of the 2017 Oil & Gas UK Awards, which celebrate success and outstanding performance across the sector, the third annual MER UK Award winners were announced by Andy Samuel, the Chief Executive of the OGA, on 2 November 2017.
The MER UK Awards recognise innovative and sustainable ways to maximise economic recovery from the UK Continental Shelf.
Four extremely high quality entries were selected as finalists with the two winners being:
- Total E&P Ltd and the Oil and Gas Technology Centre asset integrity solution centre – an excellent example of industry collaboration, sharing, supporting and adopting new technology which is contributing positively to MER UK.
- Apache North Sea Limited Callater Project - where excellent collaboration between the partners and the supply chain resulted in the project being successfully and safely completed ahead of schedule and under budget.
Andy Samuel said: “We are seeing some great improvements in working practices across the sector – reflected in the high standard of the 14 nominations. I hope these diverse examples will inspire others to emulate such excellent practices and new ways of working."
