About the OGA

At the Oil and Gas Authority we are looking for talented, committed, professional individuals to join our team.

With offices in Aberdeen and London and a vital role - to ensure economic recovery of the UK’s indigenous oil and gas supplies, whilst also supporting the move to net zero carbon by 2050 - the OGA offers exciting roles at various levels of seniority and across a number of disciplines.

The following pages will tell you more about what the Oil and Gas Authority does, what we offer new recruits, what you can expect from our recruitment process, and what to expect when you join the Oil and Gas Authority team.

The role of the Oil and Gas Authority

The Oil and Gas Authority has an exciting and important role to play in helping to ensure the economic recovery of the UK’s oil and gas resources, whilst supporting the drive to net zero carbon by 2050. Our ambition is to be a world-leading authority setting the framework for a sustainable and competitive UK oil and gas industry.

At the OGA we believe that economic recovery of oil and gas is not in conflict with the transition to net zero and that the industry has the skills, technology and capital to help unlock solutions to help the UK achieve the net zero target.

All forecasts show that oil and gas will remain a vital part of the UK’s energy mix as we move towards net zero. Managing the economic recovery of declining North Sea production and minimising greenhouse gas emissions are both essential.
