UK and Norway Technology Hackathons

The Oil and Gas Authority is jointly hosting a collaborative UK and Norway Technology Hackathon which is being held in Aberdeen (22 November) and Stavanger (30 November).

Organised by ITF, OGA, NORWEP and the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy, the Technology Hackathon will focus on mature fields tail end value creation and field abandonment.

Tail end value creation has become a major challenge for the mature North Sea basin, where innovative solutions to enhance safety, minimize impact on the environment and create value for companies and governments are being sought. The event is a collective effort to seek and discuss the best ideas in optimising late life field assets and field abandonment.

The hackathons will feature presentations from AkerBP, Centrica, ConocoPhillips, Point Resources, Repsol Sinopec Resources UK Limited, Shell and Statoil. Each operator will share their current challenges in the area, followed by interactive sessions.

The discussions will form a report that will be shared with all attendees and act as an action plan to drive future follow-on activity.

There is an enormous opportunity for operators and the supply chain to bring new cost-saving technologies into play to maximise the economic production from mature fields. This event is a platform to highlight ideas directly to operator project specialists.

A limited number of spaces are available, please respond by completing the form and sending by the deadline of 15 November 2017.

Please note there is maximum of 2 persons per company, please provide names and area of expertise/job title and what they can bring to the event. The organisers will advise in due course if you are successfully selected to attend the event, and how many spaces are available for individual companies/organisations.
