Area Manager - CNS, Operations Directorate, Grade 6

The position:

Based in Aberdeen and reporting directly to the Director of Operations, the Area Manager role for the Central North Sea (CNS) is a key leadership role within the Operations Directorate.

Leading a multi-disciplined technical and commercial team of eight, the Area Manager will play a key role in stewarding performance of operators and license holders in the CNS, the largest production region of the UKCS with a range of prospects, producing facilities and energy integration opportunities.

This role also plays a vital part in developing strategic plans for the region, to maximise resource and infrastructure value, as well as broader energy plans to promote and influence progress towards the UK’s net zero target and align the OGA’s efforts in the region to the energy transition agenda.

The Area Manager - CNS will have line management responsibilities for multi-skilled teams of a mix of qualified oil and gas professionals (business manager, commercial, engineers and geoscientists). This role will also work closely with other teams and members of the Operations Directorate and other Directorates within the OGA.

The OGA are committed to career development, be this internally or externally. As well as internal progression, there has been several recent examples of senior leaders in the OGA returning to industry in high profile roles. The role should therefore be viewed as a career enhancement opportunity for those who wish to develop a broad network and understanding of the UKCS from an Oil & Gas and energy transition perspective.
